Going Dungeon Crawling is my blog where I'll be documenting what I do with old-school games. I started gaming with D&D Third Edition (3E) and have very little experience with systems older than that. I've played a little Dark Dungeons and experimented with hacking the Swords & Wizardry White Box rules, but that's about the extent of my experience with old-school style games.
With this blog, I'll be posting reviews/impressions of various old-school games (including retroclones), original content designed for old-school games, actual play reports, and at some point, information on a fantasy setting I'm working on that will be compatible with old-school games like Labyrinth Lord and Swords & Wizardry. I may occasionally post about newer systems like D&D 4E and Pathfinder, but those posts will be fairly rare, as I'd like this blog to focus more on older systems.
A little history on my gaming experience: I started with the D&D 3E Adventurer Box in 2002 or 2003, which was the starter set for that edition. I moved very quickly to the three core books for D&D 3E, then eventually to the 3.5 revised set. I became an avid 4E player in 2009, going almost solely to 4E. I've dabbled in some other systems along the way (the Warhammer 40K RPGs, Alternity: Dark*Matter, and Savage Worlds, among others), but D&D in its various forms has always been my favorite RPG.
